Weighing unit increases feed efficiency

With the purchase of a new feed mixer Dutch DAIRYMAN pilot farmer Guido van Hoven wants to increase his current feed efficiency. The feed mixer is equipped with an advanced Digi-star weighing unit. This unit exactly registers the loaded and the distributed quantity of feed.

The Digi-star weighing unit is connected with personal computer and the process computer. The required feed quantity is automatically adjusted as soon as the number of cows changes. All the data is processed in the management system.
Guido’s first experiences are positive. He noted less feed surpluses and a higher milk production. Both indicating an increased efficiency. Guido van Hoven, entrepreneur of the year in South Limburg in 2009, milks app. 180 cows with three automated milking systems (robots).
