Biological Farming Systems Group, Wageningen University

Wageningen University, Plant Sciences Department, part of Wageningen University & Research centre, concentrates on the development and transfer of knowledge in the field of plants, humans and health, and its related disciplines. The staff teaches in BSc courses such as Plant Sciences and Biology, and makes major contributions to MSc courses such as Bioinformatics, Plant Sciences and Organic Agriculture. With the 50-60 doctorates it awards annually, Plant Sciences is responsible for one-third of the total number of academic PhD’s graduating from Wageningen University.
The Biological Farming Systems Group, which is one of the sixteen chair groups of Plant Sciences, sets out to develop and transfer knowledge for the design and analysis of sustainable farming systems as based on eco-effectiveness, with special attention to organic agriculture.
Wageningen University is the lead partner of DAIRYMAN and on a content level involved in all the actions of WP 1 and WP3.
