Teagasc - Moorepark
Teagasc – Moorepark is the national body that provides an independent and authoritative research knowledge base, technology transfer and training services for the sustainable development of agriculture and the food processing industry. Teagasc employs over 1600 staff in 100 locations throughout Ireland.
Teagasc operates in partnership with all sectors of the agriculture and food industry and with rural development agencies. Independent advice to farmers and rural dwellers is provided by 550 local advisors and regional specialists.
Moorepark Production Research Centre carries national responsibility for all aspects of dairy production research. The continuing role is to anticipate the production needs of a rapidly changing farming environment, and to provide dairy producers with new and adapted technologies to improve competitiveness and efficiency. This includes meeting the requirements with EU Directives on the environment and food safety.
Teagasc – Moorepark, will take part in all actions of all WP’s and will coordinate WP3.
